ASHB Keynote, “Transforming Facilities with Fault Detection and Diagnostics (FDD)”

May 20, 2024

The facilities management industry is undergoing a transformation towards proactive, analytics-driven operations. Leading organizations are leveraging Fault Detection and Diagnostics (FDD)—building analytics software that continuously monitors building systems and prioritizes the highest-impact issues—to unlock the power of their building data to accurately calculate cost impacts, detect energy-wasting issues early and reliably, shift to a condition-based maintenance (CBM) approach, and more easily report impacts.

Co-CEO of Clockworks Analytics, Nick Gayeski, delivered a jam-packed keynote for Association for Smarter Homes & Buildings (ASHB), where he provided an overview of FDD and shared examples of how organizations are utilizing it to improve energy, comfort, and maintenance in their own facilities. Nick also touched on how Clockworks is using AI, both expert systems and machine learning, to scale building analytics globally.

Uncover the key metrics used for prioritization and decision-making, from cost savings to environmental impact. WATCH THE VIDEO BELOW.

An active industry group, the Intelligent Buildings Council (IBC) works to strengthen the large building automation industry through innovative technology-driven research projects. It was established in 2001 by ASHB to specifically review opportunities, take strategic action, and monitor initiatives that relate to integrated systems and automation in the large building sector. The Council’s projects promote the next generation of intelligent building technologies and incorporate a holistic approach that optimizes building performance and savings.
