Leading Pharmaceutical Company Drives Energy Efficiency with Clockworks

September 10, 2025

A leading pharmaceutical company in Singapore has emerged as a standout example of how data-driven
building analytics can drive meaningful energy savings. With a clear internal goal of saving €300,000 annually, the facilities and maintenance teams have leveraged Clockworks Analytics to identify inefficiencies, optimize equipment performance, and embed energy-conscious practices into their daily operations.

CHALLENGE

The site, comprising four buildings and two distinct operational groups— the Production Maintenance team and the Utilities team— faced the challenge of coordinating energy-saving efforts across diverse teams and systems. With ambitious savings targets and a complex infrastructure, they needed a scalable solution to streamline diagnostics, prioritize maintenance, and track progress.

SOLUTION

Since connecting to Clockworks Analytics in September, the site began actively engaging with diagnostics and professional services by October. Led by Jan Zajas, Clockworks’ Consulting Services Engineer, the teams began cleaning up diagnostics and tackling tasks with precision.

Recognizing the need to respect the time and focus of technicians from different groups, Jan restructured the regular meetings to be more targeted and efficient. Instead of broad, generalized calls, he split the sessions by building and team—ensuring that each group, whether the Production Maintenance team or the Utilities team, received relevant insights and actionable tasks. This approach made the meetings more
productive and worthwhile for everyone involved.

The teams quickly became power users of the platform, with over 20 active users regularly checking and updating tasks. They transitioned from relying on external support to independently creating and managing tasks, demonstrating deep familiarity with their building systems.

RESULTS

Significant Energy Savings: The site has already achieved close to €500,000 in savings, surpassing their initial goal.
High Engagement: With the most active users across their organization, the Singapore team exemplifies how internal ownership can drive success.
Operational Efficiency: By integrating Clockworks with their work order system and maintaining a tidy task
environment, they’ve streamlined maintenance workflows.
Data-Driven Decision Making: The team is now building custom dashboards within Clockworks to replace
manual spreadsheets, aiming to make the platform their central hub for energy and maintenance insights.

LOOKING AHEAD

The Singapore site continues to push boundaries with condition-based maintenance and performance
optimization. With support from the company’s Singapore site Program Manager and the ongoing guidance of Jan Zajas as part of a Professional Service contract, the team is well-positioned to sustain and grow its energy-saving initiatives.
